Liturgy is any public official expression of the Church’s prayer life and worship. In
liturgy, we hear God speaking to us, when the Word of God is proclaimed and are
united to Christ in the Eucharist.
The Liturgy is incomplete without the active participation of Eucharistic Ministers,
Readers, Choir and Altar Servers.
Extra Ordinary Ministers of Eucharist- Ministers of Eucharist are commissioned
by the Archbishop to serve the faithful, in particular assist the priest in distributing
the Eucharist during Mass, other Eucharistic celebrations and to the sick and needy.
Readers -Readers proclaim the Word of God in a manner that opens the richness
of the Bible to those who hear the Word. A Reader must view this responsibility
with utmost devotion as this will help the faithful to develop a deep understanding
of the scripture. A Reader must be person of faith and a competent reader for a
large congregation.
Choir - Music plays a very important part in the life of the church. The
choir leads the congregation in glorifying the God and enlivens the liturgy. It
fosters active participation of the faithful by means of singing.
Altar Servers– Altar Servers are a vital part of the liturgical ministry.

manner. Altar servers are very important in the smooth running of the parish services.
